Delivering programmes and governance to time,cost and quality are critical parts of project delivery. This facilitates transparent processes and auditable cycle of reviews (whether weekly or monthly) Conor is one of the few independent design reviewers on the NHS Design Quality Indicators panel for projects.
The team have managed major projects as a PM from concept through to operational handover including complete new hospitals in the UK, EMEA through to complex infection control, Neurosciences and Oncology centres that are heavy on engineering and design facilities.
The team has undertaken a number of high profile Independent reviews examples include reviewing some 26 of the New Hospitals Project in depth , Brighton 3Ts, Jersey New Hospital and in Ireland the Elective care reviews for Cork and Galway, the Surgical hubs and working with design teams in several university hospitals for DCPS These reviews deliver detailed and clear recommendations covering project governance, roles, clinical brief, demand capacity and project readiness.
Team members have also been involved in national reviews of estates facilities, published guidance on next generation facility standards and reviewed a number of times national programmes for healthcare in the UK , the Middle East, such as for NHP in 2021-22, Qatar and UAE health programmes. In Ireland this included team members work for the IAEM ED and Urgent Care guidance.
HPD have also been involved in substantial due diligence on acquisitions of healthcare portfolio from single purchases to more than 100 separate facility assets as one single procurement. Conor Ellis also has been called as an expert witness on issues of health planning and commissioning facilities, including many high profile legal cases.
