For more than 20 years, team members have embraced and poineered digital integration. Including the very earliest installation of digital theatres and robotic systems. Conor Ellis was part of the evaluation team tasked with reviewing future technologies for NHS digital. The team reviewed many of the 61 technologies that future healthcare will incorporate through NHS digital investment and now part of the NHP programme.
All care pathways should make use of technologies, the key is blending technologies to provide a more responsive, efficient diagnostic and treatment service. These technologies must deliver more robust reporting, audit and governance procedures. All health systems require renewal at all levels of system, buildings and operation, linking to the flow, fabric and footprint themes.
These systems range from command centres, hand held reporting, virtual care, digital twins, RIS, Pyxis, to and major clinical systems like EPR, patient flow, smartbeds involving some of the IT industries global leaders.
